Today marks a big day for Databook as we are thrilled to announce that we’ve raised $5m in seed funding from a group of investors. The round was led by Josh Stein at Threshold Ventures.
This large seed investment signals two important achievements for Databook: firstly, the confidence that Threshold and our other investors have in Databook’s strategy to own the Enterprise Customer Intelligence Platform market; and secondly, excitement regarding Databook enterprise traction to date.
It was clear from our first meeting with Josh that he shared with us an understanding of the total market opportunity and an appreciation for our approach. With his deep expertise building world-class software companies such as Box and Twilio, Josh is the ideal partner for Databook as we scale our product and our team.
Alongside Threshold, we’re also fortunate to be joined by two other long-time Silicon Valley investors: Semil Shah of Haystack and Cherian Mathew of Firebolt. They all share our long-term vision for capturing the $5B+ market opportunity. The significant funding round and investors involved together give us a tremendous platform for accelerated growth.
Like many founders, we started Databook in 2017 to solve a recurring and costly enterprise problem: how to drive enterprise selling performance at scale. It’s been challenging and exciting taking a raw concept and iterating toward a viable SaaS software business. We are pleased that our growing enterprise customer base proves we’re getting it right. And we’re extremely proud to call some of the most venerable names in business our customers.
We’re now poised and excited to remove the hand-brake inherent to a smaller team, and double-down on our product, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success hiring. Are you an entrepreneurial leader who wants to build the next transformational sales technology? Consider joining our team!
And finally, to those who’ve believed in Databook from the beginning—to our angel investors and advisors from companies such as Accenture, Salesforce, Google, Databricks and LinkedIn, you’ve been great partners to us! And most especially to our partners, Rujuta and Becky, who are wonderfully supportive on this amazing journey.
Full steam ahead!
